Gluten Free Pasta Review: Ronzoni Rotini



Good morning to all my gluten free pasta lovers! I may have spoken about Ronzoni coming out with a gluten free pasta, some posts back. Last night, I picked up a box at my local supermarket, and decided to give it a try. The pasta is made up of brown rice, quinoa, and corn flour. The box suggests that it tastes like regular white pasta. I looked at the box, thinking, "Challenge accepted." I followed the directions exactly, and finished cooking the pasta fairly quickly. I put some gluten free pasta sauce on top, and sat down to eat.

The pasta was, by far, the best gluten free pasta that I have ever tried! It is not mushy, or hard at all. It tasted like normal pasta! It blew my mind.
I am a Al Dente fan. If pasta is NOT cooked Al Dente, I won't eat it. To cook Ronzoni Rotini Al Dente:
  • Follow the instructions on the package, and cook for 7 minutes exactly. 
  • In addition to adding a pinch of salt, I added a touch of olive oil to the water. 
  • Once the water boiled, I added the pasta. I waited for the water to return to a roaring boil, and then I turned the heat down to medium. 
  • To avoid any pasta sticking together, make sure you stir the pasta occasionally. 
Paired with your favorite sauce, Parmesan cheese, and your favorite red wine, you have a delicious gluten free meal, sent to you from Heaven.

If you are interested in trying Ronzoni gluten free pasta, look for it in the regular pasta aisle. You will find it in the Ronzoni section, in a yellow box. At my local Stop n Shop supermarket, the pasta retails at $2.99.

Celiac Women At a Decreased Risk for Hormone-Related Cancers.

When it comes to Celiac Disease, there really are not many benefits to the disease. However, research has shown that women, who have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, are at a lower risk for hormone-related cancers, which include Endometrial, Breast, and Ovarian Cancers. Women with Celiac Disease are 15% less likely to develop Breast Cancer, 40% less likely to develop Endometrial Cancer, and 11% less like to develop Ovarian Cancer. Researchers believe that this is due to a decreased level of female hormones that promote reproductive Cancers.
