Barilla Pasta: Revisited.

My friends over at Barilla pasta have been following my blog posts about how much I LOVE their gluten free pasta line. They contacted me and sent me free pasta (which was the best early Christmas/birthday present I've ever gotten). They sent me four boxes of pasta, which was extremely nice of them.
For the past few days, I have been in a cooking storm. On top of baking a gluten free cake from scratch, I recently indulged in a little bit of gluten free Barilla pasta. Again, I paired the pasta with some of my boyfriend's homemade pasta sauce. Absolutely amazing! Pairing this meal with a glass of my favorite Shiraz-Cabernet made this meal perfect.

Barilla pasta not only puts out amazing and safe gluten free pasta, they have amazing people working for their company.

Food Review: Udi's French Baguettes

After I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, I was unable to have one of my all-time favorite foods: Garlic bread. I thought I would never be able to have garlic bread again. I loved eating garlic bread with a helping of spaghetti and meatballs.

Then I discover Udi's French Baguettes. A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to have a pasta night. We had a package of these baguettes in the freezer and we decided to add garlic bread to the meal. You cannot have spaghetti and meatballs without garlic bread, right? My boyfriend knew that it had been a few years since I had any garlic bread.
The Udi's French Baguettes toasted nicely in the oven. It was crispy on the edges, and soft in the middle. My boyfriend was able to make decent garlic bread out of these baguettes.

As usual, I was pleased with Udi's, for their high quality food items. The French Baguette was amazing. Not only is it great for garlic bread, it is also perfect for dunking in soup.

It is hard to find this product, so I would recommend going to your local organic/gluten free shoppes. Sometimes you get lucky and find this item in the chain supermarkets. It is moderately priced, but, it is well worth it.

Food Review: Glutino Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Welcome to November my friends! Today, I am bringing you a review of another fabulous Glutino product.
Yesterday, as I was relaxing, I decided to have a serving of these chocolate covered pretzels. I entered chocolate Heaven when I took my first bite. My taste buds were being pampered by the combination of sweetness from the chocolate, and the saltiness of the pretzel. It was a perfect combination.

I highly recommend this decadent treat. You can find this item in most grocery stores. It is moderately priced, but extremely worth it.

I do have to admit that I had two servings of these pretzels. They were too good! LOL!

Celiac adults and children, treat yourself to this fine product! You will be glad you did!

Girl Scouts of America to introduce GF Chocolate Chip Shortbread cookies

Remember back to the days when we would look forward to girl scout cookies season? It was one of my favorite times of the year. My favorite cookies to buy were the thin mints.
After I was diagnosed with Celiac disease I had to kiss those cookies good-bye. Every time I walked by those cookies, I died a little inside.

However, now is a time to celebrate, since Girl Scouts of America are introducing GF cookies! The Chocolate Chip Shortbread cookies will make their debut in the 2013-2014 cookie sale! That's right! We Celiacs will be able to indulge in yummy cookies, and support a good cause.


These cookies are certified gluten free, and are made with real chocolate chips. There are no artificial ingredients, and no high fructose corn syrup.

The cookies are being piloted in the following states:

• California
• Maryland
• Illinois
• Massachusetts
• Pennsylvania
• Maine
• Minnesota/Wisconsin
• The Carolinas
• Virginia
• Western New York

If the cookies sell well, they will be made available in all areas of the country.

Food Review: Glutino Apple Cinnamon Toaster Pastry

Glutino is a very popular gluten free food brand, and I've reviewed several of their products. Last week, I found this product by Glutino, while shopping at a local Wal-mart. Since I have been very happy with every Glutino product I've tried, I did not hesitate to purchase this product.

The toaster pastry is very good. It is flaky, and the apple cinnamon center has a great flavor.

For breakfasts on the go, I highly recommend this product. It pairs great with a hot cup of coffee.
If apple cinnamon isn't your thing, try their strawberry toaster pastry.
